Dear Parents/Carers and Community Members
Who can believe we are almost half way through the term! Staff are busy assessing students’ progress and are in the middle of writing semester two reports. Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter, as this is the main way we communicate to our families about whole school direction and events.
Thank you also for supporting our Movember Free Dress day last Friday. The students raised $212 for this important campaign.
Business Plan Information and Parent Feedback Session
This is your chance to have your say about the future direction of our school! I invite all parents to join members of our executive leadership team and School Board, as we share our new Business Plan and then workshop what you think the school is doing well and what areas we need to improve in. The session is open for any interested parents and will be held on Wednesday 7November from 3.15pm to 4.00pm, in the library. Afternoon tea will be served. The playground will also be supervised by a member of staff.
Remembrance Day- Friday 9 November
This Friday, all staff and students will observer one minute’s silence for Remembrance Day. Our Head Boy and Head Girl, will lead a short service over the PA, before laying a school wreath and lowering of the Australian flag. This Remembrance Day is significant, as it is the 100th anniversary of Armistice.
2019 Class Placement Information
At Marangaroo, placement of children into classes for the new school year is based on the professional judgements of staff. In allocating children to classes, the academic, health and social/emotional needs of all students are considered. All classes are homogenous, representing a range of academic abilities and social development.
Parents are welcome to provide the school with additional information that may impact on their child’s 2019 class placement. This includes information about your child that you would like the school to be aware of when allocating them to a class. All parent information should be made in writing and addressed to the Principal. Please be aware that only information that reflects educational grounds will be considered. This may include learning difficulties/strengths, health requirements or social/emotional concerns. Requests relating to your child’s friendship groups or staff member preferences will not be considered. Please also be aware that parent request letters are considered only after initial student placement has occurred. This is to ensure a fair and transparent process for all the children in our care. Please be aware, therefore, that making a request will not guarantee a requested class placement. All parent requests must be received by Friday 9 November.
2019 Class Structure
Below is the planned structure of classes. This has been penned according to current numbers and whether we have been informed of students leaving Marangaroo Primary School. We hope that this stays as is; however, this may change if there is a deviation in student enrolments.
